CBC Clinician and Research Coordinator Dr. Joseph Taliercio, discussed the impacts of rising temperature on mental health in a variety of news outlets, including an interview with CNN, a webinar for the American Psychological Association and episode on NPR’s 1A show and a blog post for The Equation.
Dr. Taliercio, who treats patients and conducts research at Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants (CBC) shared research showing increases in emotional dysregulation, impaired cognitive functioning and even increases in suicide associated with rising heat.
The APA webinar was co-presented with over 300 people in attendance from around the world on July 20. On 1A, he was joined by environmental and environmental health scientists out of Boston University and the Laureate Institute for Brain Research on July 31.
